How to Deal with People Who Make You Angry

Do you often feel irritated and annoyed by other people?

Do you find yourself blaming others for your frustrations?

Do you get angry about people who you think are rude, inconsiderate, incompetent, annoying, or indifferent?

There is a simple way of dealing with how you feel, and it's this...

Realize that your reaction is actually YOUR problem!

Yes, you've read right. The problem isn't 'them'; it's you... or, more accurately, the problem is how you react to them.

When you allow yourself to react adversely (even if you think it justified) to some external happening or event, your emotional response will cause problems for you.

Your adverse reaction will eat at you, consume you, create tension, potentially give you stomach pains or a headache, and drain you of energy and happiness.

Wouldn't you sooner give your thoughts and time to something more positive?

Whenever you feel the emotional hackles rising, focus on responding in a peaceful and calm way. Take a deep breath (or several). Count to 60. As you do so, let go of the need to respond or react in a negative emotional way.

Other people will always create testing situations. That's the way it is. The secret is responding in a way that is calm, compassionate, nurturing (for self & others), and accepting, so as to navigate through whatever challenge presents itself without adverse effects.

So, next time you point the finger at someone or feel angry because of something they say or do, change how you react. Breathe and count to 60. Let it go, and get on with the much more interesting and fulfilling things in your life.

Choose An Amazing Life

If you wake each morning lacking enthusiasm for your day...

If you are bored or depressed about the way your life is...

If you are always comparing yourself with those who are living an awesome life...

Then maybe it's time to change the way you feel and focus on creating something amazing for yourself. Here's how...

Start by realizing that life is only as difficult, depressing, boring or unfair as you believe it to be.

You have a choice. You can focus on all the negative or you can put your thoughts into seeing the positive aspects of life.

When you approach life doing what you have always done, with the same level of thinking you've always had, you get the same results.

So, choose an amazing life by believing wholeheartedly that it's possible.

Choose an amazing life knowing that you are worthy of it.

Make time and space each day to create the life you want. Make it a priority. Do the work that will bring about the results you desire.

Look to others for inspiration, but don't compare or go into a negative loop of thinking about how life is unfair or how others seem to create a wonderful life almost effortlessly. Negative thinking keeps you in chains.

Shift your thoughts. Be positive, pro-active, and persistent. Let go of those habits and negative self-talk that do not support you.

Realize that life is exciting, fulfilling, joyful, and fair. It will challenge you, yes, but embrace it.

So, what do you choose today? Is your life amazing? Make it so!

Say No to Energy Vampires

Are you tired of friends, family or colleagues constantly off-loading their problems on to you?

Would you like to ditch the drama and start connecting with positive souls who make you feel good?

If there are people in your life who are stealing your joy and vitality, here's what to do...

First, notice how you feel when you're with other people.

Do you mostly enjoy being around them? Do you feel joyful and uplifted or tense and drained?

If someone is overtly negative or moaning about their problems without giving you any consideration, then make a conscious choice to nurture yourself first and protect your emotional well-being.

Be assertive and say 'no' to energy vampires. Don't allow them to involve you in their dramas and negative thinking. Of course, listen and be empathic. Offer to help where you can. But, don't let them trample over your own happiness and peace of mind.

Lead by example. Be positive and joyful. The person you're with could just be going through a difficult time. See if your positive outlook can help lighten the situation.

If someone is constantly stealing your joy and weighing you down with their negative thoughts and actions, spend less time with that person.

Instead, start to connect with like-minded people. Choose to be with those who are generally uplifting to be around.

Be discerning. We all have off-days and, sometimes, there is just-cause to rant and moan. If, however, you find that someone is constantly making you feel tired and drained, then it's time to detach to protect your well-being.

Life is to be enjoyed not endured. Relationships should be enriching. So, choose to spend your time with people who respect you rather than use you. It makes a difference!

Today's quote:

'If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.' - Steve Jobs

7 Self-Nurturing Tips

Are you struggling with your daily commitments?

Wondering how you can relax and make space for what matters?

Perhaps the following self-nurturing tips will help...

1) Start your day gently with a relaxing, mood enhancing routine. Play feel-good music, eat a healthy breakfast, and take a refreshing shower. If you share your home with family or friends, get up earlier than everyone else to savour this quiet time. This positive start will set the tone of your day.

2) Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality. Practice uplifting and positive daily affirmations that will boost your self-esteem.

3) Do at least one thing every day that you truly love. Look forward to this time as an opportunity to expand and enjoy the bliss of being in the moment.

4) Let go of any situations or tensions that are stealing your joy. Heal non-nuturing habits.

5) Feed body, mind, and soul by eating a healthy and varied diet. Make meal times a joyful, slow, and relaxing experience.

6) Dance, laugh, and walk often. Choose to be somewhere beautiful and inspiring. Make time for time out!

7) End your day with gratitude for all the good things you have experienced. Be thankful for everything that has inspired or nurtured you - even the smallest enrichment. By practicing gratitude as your pre-sleep ritual, you focus on the positive aspects of life's journey - the stuff that really matters!

And, remember... self-nuturing isn't a selfish activity. When you focus on living more joyfully, your well-being improves. That means there is more of the 'positive you' to offer to the world.

Go on... make time for yourself every day.
