Set Good Intentions

We're on the brink of a New Year and it's traditionally a time for looking back and looking forward.

Whatever milestones you've reached in 2010, chances are you'll want to do even better in 2011.

Before you start focusing on your New Year resolutions, consider this:

"You are today where your thoughts have brought you;
you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you."

-James Allen

In other words, what you think creates your reality.

Start your New Year with good intentions.

Make your resolutions doable and achievable.

If you dream big, and have major goals to accomplish, focus on the step-by-step action. Little-by-little, what you desire can become reality by focusing your intention.

Making resolutions for the New Year isn't about making a list and then doing nothing. You need to take action every day. You need to keep your thoughts firmly on what you wish to achieve.

Results come with time, focused thought, and focused effort.

So, as you look to the year ahead, set resolutions that mean something to you. Be the change you wish to see.

And be careful what you wish for. You never know, it may just come true!

Have an amazing 2011!

Secret to Life's Success

Are you always busy, doing this and that? Are you constantly chasing your goals so that you can check everything on your `to-do' list? Do you define success by how much you've achieved?

Well, hang on a moment. Let me tell you this:

The secret to success in life isn't about how much you've done. It's about how much you're enjoying life moment-by-moment.

It's true!

Are you enjoying rushing about all the time? If so, good ... carry on!

Are you enjoying spending every moment of every day chasing your goals? If so, good ... carry on!

If not, then call time-out.

Slow down!

Simply `be'!

You may need to reflect on what's happening in your life right now and consider what's important to you.

And you can do this by simply creating more time to enjoy the moment.

So, sit still for a while. Star-gaze, watch the flames in the hearth, sit back and relax.

Savour the enjoyment of `being' in the moment, and remember that it's the simple things in life that really count.

Today's maxim:

"You have achieved success if you have lived well, laughed often and loved much."
-Author Unknown

Season's greetings to you all!

Building Your World

What's your outlook on life?

Do you see the world as a dull, depressing place where nothing good ever happens or is it bright, uplifting, and full of amazing opportunities?

We all share one planet and yet our experiences and views of the world differ immensely. Well, let me tell you how to build a world that you really wish for:

It's simple really.

You see, the world is what you make it!

What we think ... the dominant thoughts that we project ... creates the reality.

So, if you're always moaning that the world stinks ... that nothing good ever happens ... that the world is dull and scary, then that's exactly what you'll believe, and exactly how the world will appear to you.

Let go of those negative thoughts. Embrace positive ones instead.

Change the world by changing your perspective.

See the world as beautiful, good, happy, bright, and full of wonder and amazing opportunities. See your place within this world.

Thoughts are more powerful than we ever imagined.

What you think about on a moment-by-moment basis can bring about the reality.

So, choose to take on a positive outlook on the world ... choose to see life's many wonders ... and you WILL build a better world: one that is aligned with your dominant thoughts.

Remember this:

"There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million." - Walt Streightiff

The Power of Kindness

With the festive season upon us, it's a time to think about giving and making the world a better place. You can do this simply through random acts of kindness.

Do you know what happens when you are kind to others?

You change their outlook on the world!

You make the world a happier place.

What's more, you experience such a wonderful feeling that you've done something meaningful and helpful. Apart from experiencing love, nothing else can give you so much fulfilment and joy.

Being kind to someone ~ anyone ~ changes the world in a profound way.

Your act of kindness brings light and love into someone's life. It can impact their life in a positive way forever.

Acts of kindness, especially when they are random and anonymous, can make a significant difference.

In fact, performing random acts of kindness is fun and contagious!

Here are some ideas:

Pay for a stranger's meal (without them knowing), buy flowers for someone, donate used books to your local library, use your creative talents to make something to give away, donate your time or energy to a good cause, and so on.

Even simple kindness, such as smiling or saying good morning, or opening the door for someone, or giving compliments, can make a difference.

"Remember there's no such thing as a
small act of kindness. Every act
creates a ripple with no logical end."

- Scott Adams

So, live and breathe kindness every day and change your life and the life of others for the better!

Make a Difference

We are a nation of thinkers and dreamers. This is wonderful! We need thinkers and dreamers to make sense of the world and imagine future possibilities. But, to make a difference in life, we also need something else.

We need thinkers and dreamers who can follow through with action!

The 19th century English artist, poet and social thinker, John Ruskin, left us with this important maxim:

"What we think or what we know
or what we believe is, in the
end, of little consequence.
The only consequence is what we do"

How true!

It's what we DO that makes a difference.

As we all know, there can be a huge gulf between thinking and doing. Just consider all those great ideas that you've had that you've never done anything with. Yes, we've all been there with this one!

But life gives us plenty of opportunities to manifest something that makes a difference. What's more, it's usually the small things that are the most meaningful, such as just being there for someone!

Making a difference begins not from thought but from what you feel in your heart. And, when you start `thinking' from your heart, you begin `doing' all the things that really matter.

So, what are you doing today? Does it really make a difference?

Go on ... make it happen!
