In the dictionary criticism is listed as: disapproval expressed by pointing out faults or shortcomings.

Do you take criticism well? How many of us do? Yet it is an important part of self development. If you learn to listen to criticism you may find that you can find the key to improving who you are. That's not to say you're not fine the way you are, but we can all improve ourselves in certain areas of our lives.

Have you ever noticed how well we can all receive praise, but react badly to correction, when it is actually the criticism that we can learn the most from. If you can get over the initial sinking feeling and think about what has been said, you may find that you can see where you're going wrong. Although it makes you feel bad at the time criticism has some truth in it, you have to figure out what it is and try to change it. In fact, by learning to accept criticism is in its self self-development because you have learned not to become defensive and accept it in a mature way.

So, next time someone criticizes you, instead of getting defensive and bad tempered listen to what they say and try to change what you're doing that has attracted the negative comments. You will be surprised at the results – and the buzz you get when you succeed in fixing your shortcomings.

A Sad Loss...

Hello everyone,

I would like to take this opportunity to post a blog to say goodbye to one of the worlds good guys.

As you are all now probably aware, Steve Urwin was tragically killed in an accident in Australia while filming Stingrays on the 4th September.

I would like to send his family my sincere condolences, and say goodbye to a man that had the guts to live life to the full. His death is a great loss to the world. Thank you Steve, for teaching us to care about wildlife and our environment. Your memory and your work will live on.

May he rest peacefully now.
